I’m in charge of development department of 4ward, an IT company based in Italy. I started my IT career as a system engineer and then decided to move on software development. This gave me the possibility of acquiring a 360° view of the IT world, combining the best of both sides.
I think that software development is still craftmanship and it should move to automation as soon as possible in order to ensure better control on the process. In 4ward we work hard on software automation on the Microsoft ecosystem, using Visual Studio 2010 as driver for this process.
We create Software Factories using GAX/GAT in order to automate whatever is possible in software creation process, leaving to developers only the parts where their creativity is really needed: business logic and user experience.
